As a child, Jesse Katz followed his photographer father Andy Katz throughout the world. As Andy travels the world in search of specific sites to create memorable photographs, Jesse travels California to find specific soils in which to create memorable wines. Enjoy our wine as part of your journey.
A mix of eastern hillsides that are south and southwest facing with a benchland block. Hillside Cabernet vineyard sites, all with mineral-rich volcanic soils, are always the first focus of this blend.
This vintage's blend is uniquely crafted with delicate inclusions of malbec, and a hint of merlot and petit verdot, showcasing intense black fruits enriched with lengthy velvety tannins. It has vibrant, layered aromas of blueberry compote, lavender, anise seed, milk chocolate and nutmeg with undertones of cast iron and tobacco leaves. The medium-bodied palate is elegantly styled, pairing deep flavors with a weightless feel due to its bright acidity and velvety tannins.
